![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() (There’s around 15 books + 2 graphic novels in that series, and also a new book gets added like every 6 months or so, so it’ll be a while before to run out of content. If you haven’t read that series, and you have found yourself wanting something to replace the hole in your heart that Darkwing gave, (I sure have) I would strongly recommend those books. Shade is a young Silverwing bat whose father disappeared before he was born. though it is chronologically the second novel in the sequence after Darkwing. It tells the story of a colony of silverwing bats. I also found that this book was really similar to the Wings of Fire series, and it definitely reignited my love for those books. Silverwing is a best-selling childrens novel, written by Kenneth Oppel, first published in 1997 by HarperCollins. ![]() The book advertises being for kids, but even being a 15-year-old, I really enjoyed it all the way through. I actually almost cried reading this book, which is surprising because I almost never cry when I read books. I thought the whole idea of pre-evolutionary bats was really cool. I was pleasantly surprised how emotionally invested I became with this book, since I wasn’t expecting much if I’m being honest. It had a nice plot with lovable, and relatable characters. ![]()
